We've been in the Add Sheet since 1914. We almost always offer the
same deal ($1 off a large) so it's not that... it's the content of
the ad. We try to put something in there that will stick in 
people's
minds. "We have the freshest ingredients" or "our waitresses
are the nicest" is the same blather that everybody says (not to
mention that we don't have waitresses -- er, servers to use the PC
term). So we try to put something different in there that will stick
in peoples' noodles.
Some of the ads actually made national TV. Our Window Cleaner ad made Letterman's Dumb Ads back in 1928. Channel 8 did a story about it and everything (slow news week). We've been on Leno several times, once with the WD-40 ad, once with the Chopsticks ad, and another time with another one, but we forgot which one it was.
